Safety Concerns
Sacred Heart School is concerned at all times about the
safety of the students who attend our school.
The following suggestions are for your benefit.
- Be
sure your child knows a direct safe route to the bus stop or to school.
- Teach
your child to walk on the sidewalk and to cross the street only at corners
where crossing guards are stationed.
- Instruct
your child to go directly to school and to go directly home after school.
- Be
sure to inform the school office of any change of address or telephone
number. It is most important that
the school have current and accurate information in the event of an
emergency.
- Telephone
messages to school assigning chores or changing where a child is to go
after school are difficult to handle because authenticity must be verified
and confusion might result.
Messages must be limited to those that involve emergency
situations.
Photographs
Individual photographs are taken each year. Purchase of these pictures is
voluntary. Notices are sent home prior
to the date on which pictures will be taken.
Payment is due the day of photographing.
Volunteers
Our volunteer program includes service in many areas:
typing, nurses, schoolyard monitor, cafeteria, substitute teacher, and
Para-professional work. We encourage
you to join in making our school more vital through your services. Please contact the school office for more
information.
Visitors
Visitors during school hours are to report to the school
office. If it is necessary to deliver a
message to a child or teacher, please report to the office. Under no circumstances may a parent go
directly to a classroom.
The Student Store
The Student Council students will run a student store each
morning from 8:00 AM to 8:20 AM. The
store has various school supplies including used uniforms.
Educational Field Trips
At times during the school year, students have the privilege
of participating in educational field trips.
Students will be denied participation in the field trips if the official
parental permission form is not returned to school before the trip, or if
behavioral problems warrant exclusion.
Buses are used on all field trips exceeding 5 miles. Parent volunteers are requested on most
field trips.
