Tuition and Other Fees For the School Year 2008 - 2009
In this year’s tour packet, exciting and dynamic change is in the air for the coming
school year as per the collection and management of tuition and fees. Sacred
Heart School is joining like institutions around the area and country by partnering
with the FACTS Management Company to collect and process tuition/fees.
FACTS is an automated
payment system.What this means is that
parents are authorizing their bank or credit card company to automatically
transfer funds to the school on the installment payment dates traditional to
the school.No more mailing
checks—unless one is paying the entire tuition/fees upfront at the beginning of
the year or upon enrollment.Preauthorized automated payments can be done conveniently from one’s checking
or savings account, or by way of MC, Discover, or AMEX – NO VISA
The administration has found that automation will
save money for both the school and the parents and this is why we have chosen
to use this method.
For the coming school year, all
tuition/fees must be paid by one of the following options:
Pay 100% of the tuition/fees directly to the school in cash, check, or
money order upon enrollment. All parents who use this option must still fill
out a FACTS form. It will be kept on file at the school in case of any
delinquent bills (i.e. Dollars for Scholars). This form will not be processed
unless a family is remiss in their financial obligations.
Make eleven (11) monthly installments (starting upon enrollment and
ending in May of 2009 via FACTS on one’s checking or savings account.
At your option you can set up a “custodial
account” to satisfy this payment plan (or payment plan #2) through your bank.
Do any of the above by way of one’s AMEX, MC or Discover cards.

Some fees are common to individual grade levels,
but not to all the students. These fees are handled by the classroom teachers.
All fees are paid in full even if you choose the
5% tuition reduction.
Tuition Policy
Families, who are registered members of Sacred Heart parish, with children enrolled in the full-time program of the school, shall receive the benefit of “parishioner” rates of tuition to be determined annually by the administration.
Families, who are not parishioners of Sacred Heart parish, with children enrolled in the full-time program of the school, shall make tuition payments at a higher rate than parishioners to be determined annually by the administration.
All families shall be expected to make tuition payments according to one of the following payment plans. Each family’s preferred manner of payment must be submitted each year at the time of registration. Options for payment include:
Ø Full Payment – Under this plan, the entire amount of tuition is paid on or before July 1st. A 5% tuition reduction would be applied to the tuition cost of the family’s total tuition cost. This payment is made directly to the school office.
Ø Monthly Payments – Under this plan, the entire amount of tuition is paid monthly over an 11-month period, beginning in July through the FACTS Tuition Management Plan. This plan is an automatic payment plan made through your checking or statement savings account. Those choosing this plan will authorize their financial institution to make automatic monthly payments to FACTS on either the 5th or the 20th of each month.
All Sacred Heart families are required to participate in the “Dollars for Scholars/Market Day program at a rate of $3000.00 per family per school year. All families have the choice of opting out of this program at $300.00 per school year. A pro-rated amount will automatically be added to your FACTS account if this requirement is not met by April 1.
LATE REGISTRATION
Families registering after July 1st shall be expected to fulfill their tuition obligation according to the tuition policy stated above.
Tuition for students registering on or after the first day of school shall be prorated over the number of school days they will be in attendance. This will be paid through FACTS over the remaining months in the tuition payment plan.
LATE PAYMENTS
The following policy will apply when tuition payments are received late:
Full Payment – If payment is not received on or before July 1st, the discounted rate of tuition will not apply. When full payment has not been made by July 1st, all tuition payments will be converted to FACTS Tuition Management Plan and collected monthly.
Monthly Payments – School families who choose the 11-month payment plan and miss a monthly payment due to insufficient funds will be assessed a $25 missed-payment fee by FACTS and may incur a fee from their financial institution. The missed payment will be reattempted within 20 days.
In addition, school families who have missed two monthly payments and have not made suitable arrangements within 14 calendar days of the second missed payment will be informed that their child(ren) will not be readmitted to school, according to the specifications of this policy.
TUITION ASSISTANCE
A limited amount of tuition assistance is available for families experiencing economic difficulties. The Sacred Heart Scholarship Foundation is available to registered and active Sacred Heart families only. The Eastern Pennsylvania Scholarship Foundation is available to any family meeting income requirements. Both programs require verification of family income (PA-40) to be submitted. Scholarships are awarded in the Spring prior to the upcoming school year.
NON-ADMISSION OF STUDENTS DUE TO TUITION DELINQUENCY
School families failing to pay tuition according to the agreement, which they have made with the school or have been unwilling to make suitable alternative arrangements, will be informed that their child(ren) will not be readmitted to school.
All families must be current in their payment of tuition:
By August 20th – If not, students will not be admitted on the first of school.
By December 20th – If not, students will not be readmitted on the first day of class in January.
By March 20th – If not, students will not be readmitted the fourth quarter of school.
By May 20th – If not, students will not be permitted to take final exams or receive report cards, and permanent records will not be released.
DELINQUENT TUITION FROM PREVIOUS YEAR(S)
All previously unpaid tuition must be paid by August 1st if a student is to be readmitted on the first day of class for a new school year. Payments are to be made directly to the school.
TUITION REFUNDS
Families withdrawing students prior to the first day of school shall be refunded the entire amount that has been paid. After the first day, tuition refunds will be prorated according to the number of days in attendance.
